"Beet That Milk" Power Detox Recipe Using Nutmilk
During the Chinese Lunar New Year, it is a tradition to visit families and relatives and often enough, people snack and dine a lot without caring much of their health during this period. Hence, I came up with this power detoxifying recipe drink to help cleanse the blood and detox the liver efficiently. Beetroots are highly known as the blood cleanser and a power cure for hangovers, also often used as a medicinal plant and as natural food coloring. High in Vitamin K, calcium, fiber, iron, potassium, folate and various minerals, start including this healing vegetable fruit to your diet today, especially in the mornings for full absorption and to benefit from the power nutrients as much as possible.
1/2 cup of beetroot (peeled/sliced)
5 fresh strawberries
1/2 of a lemon (freshly squeezed)
1 tbsp maple syrup (optional)
1/2 tsp vanilla powder/extract
1 cup almond milk (sweetened)
Serving for 2
Place all of the above ingredients in a power blender and blend for 10-20 seconds or until it is smooth. I like to consume all the fiber from my blended drinks, so you might find the texture a little fiber-y. But if you prefer a silkier milk, use a strainer or a nut milk bag (or even a cheesecloth) to strain the blended juice. The taste is creamy, slightly sweet and nutty at the same time. I must have this concoction every morning and it has become a ritual for me. Do try it and you will find that you feel that your palate is clean and your gut is cleansed out and I bet you will be addicted to this amazing recipe!
