Valentine Waffles For Your Loved One (vegan, dairy-free)
How are you celebrating Valentine's Day? Plan to just snuggle with your favorite human being? Or maybe prepare a surprise Valentine breakfast for your special him or her? Here is one of my favorite and easy to make waffle recipe to follow. They are simply delicious, healthy, light and fluffy. Chewy on the inside and crispy on the outside! You can choose to use gluten-free flour or use regular plain flour. I like to use oat flour because of its toasty nutty flavour so it is really flexible!
Here are the ingredients:
1 cup gluten-free oats (or just regular plain flour)
3 tbsp maple syrup
1 tbsp organic cane sugar
1/2 very ripe banana (mashed)
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp of cinnamon powder
1/4 cup of almond milk (dairy-free)
1 flax egg (1 tbsp flaxseed + 4 tbsp of filtered water)
3 tbsp olive oil (or coconut oil)
Melted chocolate (dark/white)
Melted peanut butter (find the ones without dairy in it)
Rice/soy whip cream
Handful of fresh strawberries
You require a waffle maker for this recipe.
Makes 3-4 waffles
Whisk all of the above ingredients together in a large mixing bowl, excluding the toppings of course! The good and convenient thing about waffles is that, mixing the batter does not have to be in a certain order. It will turn out perfect every time, so just trust me! Which also means that you save time, and just enjoy the baking process. The batter should be of a slight thick and a little runny texture. Set aside for a few minutes.
In the mean time, preheat the waffle maker (this depends on your machine settings). Now pour the batter into the waffles maker and bake for about 3-4 minutes, again this depends on your waffle maker. Once baked and lightly browned, remove toasty waffles from maker and cool off on a cooling rack. Stack your warm waffles onto a clean plate, and drizzle melted chocolate, peanut butter, maple syrup and whip over top. Topped it off with fresh strawberries.
Now go surprise your loved one with this yummy delicious waffle! He or she will be in awe! Happy Valentines Day!
