Vegan, Gluten-Free Crispy Waffles Weekend!

Vegan, Gluten-Free Waffles for the weekend! Can't say NO to that one! These are light, fluffy, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Made mainly with over riped bananas. Bananas help to retain moisture in your waffles so that it will not dry out. High in potassium and fibre too! You would need a waffles maker to make this recipe. Use the same batter for pancakes or "donut' stencil pans.


  • 1 1/4 cup gluten-free flour (use oats, almond, coconut flour, etc)

  • 1/2 a very ripe banana

  • 1 tsp vanilla powder

  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon powder

  • 1/2 cup organic cane sugar

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • 2 tbsp of olive oil

  • 1 tsp chia seeds (to thicken)

  • 1/2 cup almond milk (sweetened/unsweetened)


Blend until smooth in a blender, giving it a thick, smooth and runny batter. Set aside and preheat the waffles maker. Pour batter into heated waffles maker and bake for 3 minutes. If you prefer crispier waffles, you can bake for 1-2 more minutes. Because there is already olive oil in the batter mixture, you do not need to grease the waffle maker beforehand.
